The oldest photographs available of the first lodge on Birchlake taken around or before 1929. The reason we
know this is because a fireplace /chimney was added on after this photograph was taken with a date stamped
1929. There was a forest fire in that area prior to this time that completely devastated all the woodland in the
surrounding area. The picture below to the right reveals the next renovation to the lodge. It was used as lodging
for loggers at that time.
